Pork Pie "Little Squealer" Ebony Satin Maple

Up for grabs is my trusty ol’ Pork Pie "little squealer". I got this kit around 5 years ago from the Newcastle Drum Centre, when owner Bill Detamore first released this model into the UK market. It was bought new at £1200 so I’m selling this in great condition for a considerable amount less.

Kit specs…

Sizes are - 20'' x 22’’ kick drum / 8'' x 12’’ rack tom / 13'' x 16'' floor tom / and a 7'' x 14’’ snare. The mounting clamp (pictured) for the 12’’ rack tom is also included.

The kit is 100% maple in an ebony satin finish with all black chrome hardware (with an exception of the Gibraltar 12.7mm floor tom legs which I have just fitted). I’ve also kitted out the snare with a Vintage A Weatherking batter head, as well as pure sound wires. Likewise with the rack tom, except with an Evans G1 360. The floor tom has a well used Evens G2 fitted, and the kick has a used Evans Gmad on the batter side.

Pork Pie drums are hand crafted in Canoga Park, California, and they are totally dedicated to making powerful sounding kits. This one in particular is a proper beauty and packs a serious punch. Very sensitive and rich! It’s been tried and tested over the years and it’s held me right up through many shows! I was almost reluctant to sell it when I sat back behind it the other night, but I just know it’s not the kit for me anymore.

My reasons for resale are…

A - Over time I fell in love with my 1960’s Slingerland kit and my 64’ Beverly, and grew fonder of the classic sizes.

And B… I would rather see this great kit being put to use instead of sitting and gathering dust in storage. It’d be a shame to keep them there any longer, and it’s too good to just sit around.
