About This Listing

I have for sale today my Martin GPCPA1 Madagascar Rosewood Grand Auditorium guitar. This guitar has pretty much all you could want from a structural standpoint: Madagascar Rosewood, Adirondack top, and GE (Golden Era) bracing with Adirondack braces. If you want the ultimate fingerstyle performing guitar, this one has it all. Sounds AWESOME, I love it for fingerpicking, I think it would be hard to beat from a tonal standpoint. It also has the Fishman F1 Aura+ pickup, which is my personal favorite pickup systm, just take it off easy mode so you can get the full benefits of it. My main performing Martin has this system and havent found a pickup system that sounds more natural. Now for how I came across it: Just browsing through listings here on Reverb I saw this guitar and it instantly caught my eye, the inlays along with the woods used I thought were just beautiful. When I bought it the seller thought it was the older version of the GPCPA1, but about last week I emailed the serial to Martin and they told me it is the GPCPA1 Madagascar rosewood model, original list price $6,999 and they made 70 total of this model. This one was made in 2011, making it one of tje earliest ones. Well after a little more research I found they make a dread version (which is equally rare) and as much as I love this one, I’ve decided to sell it in hopes of eventually finding the dread version, which I believe may be my dream guitar, so I figure I might as well pass this one off to someone else since its probably someone else’s dream guitar. It also comes with the original slate grey (though it looks blue) molded hardshell case, and set up with light Elixir phospher bronze strings at medium action, with saddle to spare.

Condition: Overall the guitar is in good shape and looks awesome, but it was neglected at some time in its life, as they let it some dings, scratches, and some finish checking, but it has minimal fretwear. About 2 weeks ago I had the neck reset and a dent in the side that had a slight fracture of the wood repaired by a certified Martin repair tech so its invisible to the eye, but I did include a picture of where it is. You can see a on the fretboard where a hole was drilled where they injected humidity to remove the neck for the neck reset (pictured). You can also see on the edges of the neck joint where some of the glue(?) has gotten under the edge of the finish.
