One Major Issue: The main volume fader has an issue...it works fine when pushed all the way up to "10", but the keyboard starts to make an electronic buzzing sound that gets louder when the fader is brought down...this buzzing sound is not ear-piercing and is not louder than the sounds being played on the board, but is definitely audible except when the fader is maxed out, then it goes away
  • Chassis: some very tiny nicks and dings can be seen on the metal chassis; the metal chassis as well as the plastic end caps show some noticeable scuff marks and scratches as well as some discoloration--the plastic end caps are not cracked or chipped; the bottom panel shows some obvious scuff marks and scratches and some areas of light rust
  • Buttons, Pots, and Faders: the main volume fader as an issue...it works fine when pushed all the way up to "10", but the keyboard starts to make an electronic buzzing sound that gets louder when the fader is brought down...this buzzing sound is not ear-piercing and is not louder than the sounds being played on the board, but is definitely audible except when the fader is maxed out, then it goes away; all the other knobs, buttons, sliders, and the joystick and ribbon control move nicely and work properly
  • Keys: all the keys move and function flawlessly and only show some light scuff marks on them
  • Jacks and Connectors: all the jacks function flawlessly and the power cord just has some light scuff marks on it
  • LCD Screen: the LED indicators and the LCD screen all work properly--the touch feature of the LCD screen functions flawlessly
  • Expansion Slots and Disk Drive: all look fantastic and function flawlessly; there is not a MOSS board installed and no PCM boards installed--there is one 16MB SIMMS chip installed and room for one more to be installed
  • Includes: 61-key synthesizer keyboard workstation, power cord, and one 16MB SIMMS chip installed (MOSS board, SCSI interface, manual, and case not included)

The year was 1999...the X-Files were big on TV, Clinton was president, the Y2K problem was of major discussion, and nu-metal was inescapable...and Korg introduced the world to Triton--a digital 62-voice synthesizer with built-in sequencing, arpeggiators, stereo-sampler, and an ultra-large touch-screen control panel at the center of its face-plate. The Triton was so popular and its appeal so wide spread that it could be seen on stage and in videos for rock bands, industrial and techno projects, hip-hop r&b musicians, metal bands, and country artists. With 16MB RAM and space for up to 1,000 samples there's nothing you can't create with this synth. There are plenty of on-board digital effects as well for sprucing up your samples or the Triton's own internal multi-samples. Controllers on this flagship synth (for its time) include a Joystick, 2 assignable switches, 4 assignable knobs, 3 arpeggiator control knobs, inputs for a damper pedal, PC Interface Host input, and 2 audio-ins for the sampler section. There are also stereo outputs plus 4 individual outputs. A dedicated 16-track sequencer with a 100,000 note capacity, Real-Time Pattern Play functions and several Arpeggiator patterns round this beast out as a truly all-in-one music workstation. Notable Triton users include Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Moby, Timbaland, The Neptunes, and Brian Eno. Despite all of today's computer-based programs and synths, the Korg Triton is and always will be a legendary digital synthesizer! Make this one yours today!
