Selling my 1971 Guild F-50 Jumbo to make room for other purchases. According to the previous owner, this guitar was fully restored, including a refinish to a beautiful nitro burst, by Elderly Instruments in Michigan somewhere around 2011. I've owned it since 2012, and it's been a real joy to play.
The only notable blemishes on this instrument (aside from expected minor wear on a 45+ year old instrument) are two small (hardly visible) repaired cracks, one on the lower bout and one on the upper, two repaired holes in the top from when the instrument had electronics installed (patches are very subtle), and a small crack in the bridge, which were all there when I purchased the instrument. I've had it checked out by techs throughout the time that I've owned the guitar and it's always been deemed stable, and I've never experienced any indications otherwise. The guitar stays in tune well and plays great with moderate-high action. Has always been kept in case with humidifier at my smoke free recording studio. Great (non-original) Guild-branded hardshell case is included in the sale!
New York locals feel free to contact for a test run at my Brooklyn studio.
Built to maximize projection with a selection of appointments that will catch more than a few eyes, the Guild F50 Jumbo Acoustic Guitar is a big option in style and tone. Combining a solid Sitka spruce top with flamed maple sides and back in a jumbo body design, the F50's natural volume is bolstered by an arched back which improves the instrument's projection. Finished with touches like a bound ebony fretboard and a nitrocellulose finish that improves with age, this Jumbo is a player fit for a country king.
