1960s Teisco K-2L solid body electric guitar. Following is a description borrowed from Jimmy Noise (Teisco Guitar and Bass Model Index):

In approximately March of 1966 Teisco began production of a newly shaped body. The modern name for this shape is the sharkfin, due to the shark like fins. There were several variations made at this time and one of those was the K-2L. This was a Japanese domestic model that was sold in Japan. The model was discontinued in approximately November 1966. There is an estimated 6,500 guitars made, based on current serial number collected.
The model number is sometimes referred to as the K-21 because the L on the serial number plate is stamped too low and becomes hidden with the black line. This usually occurs on the later models. The K-2L was a two pickup model. It had two on/off switches and the rhythm/solo switch for different tones. It was the only sharkfin model guitar to feature the non-adjustable roller bridge. As with most domestic models it had a plain aluminium pickguard.

Version 1

The very first sunburst models had black painted to the back of the neck and body. This was only for a few months ending around May of 1966. From then on the necks would either be painted in the standard sunburst finish or just clear coated. The earlier models had the swan log and the black plastic tip tremolo bar. Around May of 1966 saw the introduction of the wider tremolo bar, without the black plastic tip.

 Version 2

Around October of 1966, the logo changed to the Teisco text logo.

This instrument is apparently a Version 2 from around late 1966 to 1967 since it has the natural finish neck and newer logo. Made in Japan. Everything appears to be original on the guitar and everything works. It is a fun little guitar in GOOD CONDITION with dings and scratches that you'd expect from a 50 year old guitar. Price is $499.00 with FREE GROUND SHIPPING to U.S. Addresses
