This is a 1958 or 1960 Framus sold in the UK by Antoria. It is beautifully made with pressed maple front, back and sides. The neck has a five piece maple construction, bulky but very comfortable, with a customised flame maple headstock veneer. The scratch plate is similarly made with a matching maple veneer. The machine heads are originals and in good working condition and the tailpiece is 1950's too. There is a floating pickup with a single volume control. The floating bridge is hand carved in cherry.
Bindings top and back are laminated and solid.
Most importantly the tone is bright and woody as you might expect from a maple construction and delivers whether acoustic or amplified.
There are a few marks which are age related but very little lacquer checking. The guitar has been sensitively refinished. This is a reluctant sale but, I think, a good price for an instrument in this condition. So, if you are looking for an old Framus , here is a good one.
