Gibson L-2 1930 Red

I recently traded for this unique and great sounding L-2. The owner, from whom I got it, had this to say about it:
"This is an original 13 fret L-2 Prototype. It has an original pin bridge, very rare red finish, banjo tuners and mahogany back and sides. Its serial number of 9505 makes it the first one listed in 1930. It’s a very unique guitar feature-wise for Gibson and has a very focused sound. The tuners on it when I first got it were individual ’70’s (throw aways!) Grovers with rectangular metal buttons! Not the fat type barrel, but the thinner ones, so no hole enlargement needed correcting. I found the correct ’30’s banjo tuners (from Lowell Levinger) and put them on. There were additional holes from the Grovers that were filled and darkened a bit. With the proper touch up it could be improved.
I don’t think the neck was ever reset. It looks factory to me. There's a small grain split under the pick guard that was repaired without cleating. The bridge and bridge plate are original. At one time a tail piece was on the instrument and three tiny holes are still visible. There is a small grain separation on the center seam that might have been glued, but I’m not sure if that was ever needed. You can’t feel level changes with your finger rubbing in that spot. There’s no cloudiness or sticky areas on the original finish. It’s a very clean and a great sounding, very rare guitar."
