This bass RULES. Seriously. I held onto this darkstar pickup for a few years before deciding what to do with it. Last summer, I emailed the fine folks at Lakland about building this... and it came together to be something amazing.
The details:
Short Scale US 44-64 (30.5" scale, I believe)
Mahogany Body
Jazz taper neck
Rosewood fretboard
Darkstar Pickup!!!
Shell pink
Mint Pickguard

I've done a few sessions, and a handful of gigs with it. It's in overall GREAT shape, though there are some light scratches on the back (I tried photographing them... with no luck).
The tone? DEEP! Tons of low end, with a really cool mid-range. Tons of tasty low mids, and it sits in that sweet spot in the mix. Seriously: it's awesome. As it turns out, the short scale thing just isn't for me. I'm a Fender nut - through and through.
