For sale is a rare Univox Echo Tech EM-200. It's an Analog Echo / Delay utilizing a magnetic disc, like a magnetic tape. Cosmetically it's in nice shape. It has a couple small drops of white paint on the upper left corner (I do not know how they got there) and some minor scratches here and there, but very nice for it's age. Please see pics. It's in great working condition. It's super cool and has allot of functions other echo's do not have, like the blending of heads and the echo speeding up & down sound from rapidly switching heads. I bought it several years ago and the disc recently started to become scratchy. I just put in new magnetic discs (top and bottom) from NOS large format Macintosh floppies. It greatly reduced the scratchiness, but you can still hear a little. The pots are clean. All knobs, ins / outs and functions work great. There is no wow and flutter due to the belt driven magnetic disc and it is hard to get it to go into self oscillation, but possible. The heads where demagnetized and cleaned before installing the new disc. I loosened the heads up too, so they will float on the magnetic disc better to reduce long term scratching of the tape. It's tedious but possible to do this even better than I did to get the heads to float perfectly and install new magnetic discs to get a cleaner sound. I did pretty well my first time around :) I should mention it also looked really clean inside. For much more information on this rare echo go here - Vintage electronics are sold as is.
