Here is an unbelievably clean classic fully automatic belt drive 2 speed turntable, the Dual CS 1264, built in Germany in 1979. It has an Ortofon OM20 cartridge mounted, and it comes with the original factory owner’s manual and warranty card.
This was owned since new by one owner and was remarkably well cared for, the plinth (base) and dust cover are in near mint condition with none of the cracks, scratches or swirl marks you typically see. The belt is tight and holds constant speed, and the 1264 has a lighted strobe and pitch control so you can verify and adjust speed. The big platter can be set to spin at both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.
This generation of Dual features the wonderful ULM (ultra low mass) tone arm which (especially if combined with a low mass cartridge like the Ortofon), gives superior tracking on lps that have damaged grooves or warped vinyl.
The 1264 is a fully automatic design. However currently the automatic start feature needs minor service, so the owner must cue the tonearm over that start position. It will automatically stop and return the tonearm when it the end of the side, or when the lever is turned to the stop position. If you want to have the auto start function repaired, it is a common and inexpensive fix (message for more information if you have questions). A tall spindle for stacking records is not included (single play is much kinder to your vinyl), but they are easy to find.
This 40 year old all original Dual is a great choice for anyone wanting a beautifully engineered high quality turntable from the golden age of hifi. You won’t find one in better condition at a better price.
The Dual CS 1264 turntable will be properly packed and shipped within one business day of completion of payment. If you can pick it up in the city of Kent, Washington (near Seattle), there will ne shipping charge.
