Ah yes, one of the original Ibanez designs that were actually made by Hoshino Gakki in the early to mid 60s.  For those that don't know, Ibanez is the brand name of the Hoshino Gakki company.  Hoshino owned and operated their own factory for a short time in the 60s and produced their own instruments.  But outside of that time frame, Hoshino guitars were always made somewhere else like Fujigen.  This one was branded as a Maxitone, which I believe was a seller's brand out of Texas.
Anyway, this is one of the rarer bass guitars to come out of that old factory.  As best as I can research, the model name for this one was the #481, and the two pickup version was the #482.  The two pickup version is actually more common than this one pickup version!  But really these are rare basses and I only see these for sale every few years.
I'm listing this one as a project because it will need a good set-up.  The electronics all work, but the neck has the typical Japanese bow in it and will probably need a good heat and clamp treatment.  Check out the pics for a good idea of what you'll need to do.  I'm not a bass player and am not really good a bass set-ups, plus I have a lot of guitar repairs piling up here so I'm passing this one along.
