Up for sale is this vintage 1960's Meazzi Dynelectron Longhorn Bass. These Dynelectron instruments are fairly rare and extremely cool. Built in the 1960's in Italy by Meazzi, they were basically dead-on rip off copies of Danelectro instruments built out of actual wood instead of masonite. If you have ever played one of these, you know that they are very similar and play just as well (if not better, due to the fact that they have truss rods).
This bass has been professionally converted to fretless at some point in the past. We are not sure who did the work, but it is nicely done and the bass plays wonderfully. Everything else (with the exception of the nut) is original and everything works as it should. The lipstick pickups sound great and are pretty strong, giving this fretless bass a great tone. The original finish is still bright and unfaded. The bass is very clean other than a few small dings and scuffs.
This instrument has just been gone over and set up by our tech. It came in with a busted nut, which he replaced with a new professionally installed bone nut. The action is comfortable and the bass is an absolute joy to play.
An older, loose-fitting case is included. It is in nice condition for its age and the bass will be well packed inside of it for safe shipping. Don't miss out on this one, because it is COOL!
