The Manson MB-1S Signature is an extremely limited production model that incorporates many features of Matthew Bellamy's stage guitars, all hand built by Hugh Manson and The Manson Guitar Works team. The MB-1S is the first visibly altered model since the launch of the original MB-1 and is a hybrid between the first MIDI equipped guitars and the latest versions, including the red glitter model named by the band's fans as 'Santa' and the 'Matt Black' finished recent guitars with single coil sustainers. MB models are produced, by request, in very limited numbers - so far there have been just four production runs of between 25 and 35 instruments at any one time. Each model is the ultimate statement combining useable technology together with classic luthery skills. Each body is solid alder, which combined with our classic soft V neck shape, compound radius fingerboard and custom MBK-2 pickup delivers a crunching riff-ready bridge pickup with a Fernandes single coil neck configuration. Right there you already have the basis for a stunning blues/rock/ alternative masterpiece. No wonder Guitarist magazine called it "beautifully crafted simplicity". However, add the optional MIDI screen controller and switch on the new FSK 401 Fernandes sustainer system and you unleash a whole new sonic palette. The Manson custom MIDI Screen controller is factory pre-set to operate a Korg Kaoss Pad or Digitech Whammy pedal, by no means are you limited to these devices - the limit will be your imagination! Internally, the original MB-1 has had very subtle production and electronic tweaks over each production run to ensure the instrument reflects its status in the market. The MB-1S introduces a more obvious alteration of a pinwheel heel adjust truss rod system maintaining our ethos of a heel adjust system but now with easier access. Whether you go for a standard model or add the MIDI screen, fully loading your MB-1S means adding our unique custom hardware, turned from the finest grade lightweight aluminium. Custom hardware comprises both a set of machinehead knobs (replacing standard buttons) plus a pair of matching control knobs for the volume and tone. Each instrument is hand assembled in the Manson Guitar Works facility incorporating the finest components available sourcing only from the UK, US and Japan. Each instrument also comes with an individually signed (not printed) certificate from Matthew Bellamy and Hugh Manson making this special instrument even more desireable.
