The Studio Classic Bass is our Studio Bass in a more traditional form. No Active Pick Ups, no Ebony Neck; this is old school Bbass here. Maple Neck, Maple Fretboard, and some good old vintage Seymour Duncan P/JpPick-ups. You don't get more traditional than this unless you go find yourself an old 64' Fender Jazz Bass.
Her single-piece Swamp Ash body uses the slow growth wood that gives you the heft and density to get into that bottom end, and the string thru body with the Hip Shot Bridge does nothing but accentuate that low-end tone. The Hard Maple neck is bolted on with 5 wood screws to maximize the stability of the Studio bass to make sure it is always in tone and ready to play when you are.
Her classic good looks don't even start to tell the story; wait til' you plug her in and let her growl. And speaking of tone, the Swamp Ash and Maple fingerboard really let the Seymour Duncan pick-ups do what they are supposed to do, sing! The Studio Classic uses a in the Neck position and is paired up with a in the bridge. This gives the Studio Classic that warm vintage tone that you want out of a classic bass but with a little extra in the mid-end. The Duncan's are wired in series and have a seperate volume control for each pick-up, along with a master tone control.
The Studio Classic Bass is available in a variety of vintage style finishes - Gloss Ebony, Root Beer Burst and Olympic White
