It's hard to believe that thirty years has gone by since the debut of the Musician Bass series. The neck-thru-body bass which found itself in the hands of more than a few famous names was Ibanez's real entry into the world of innovative bass making. While the Musician wasn't the first bass to feature active electronics it was the first with that technology that most working musicians could afford. Ibanez's work with active electronics with the Musician led to the development of the active electronics in the Soundgear basses which would take the world by storm in the '80s and firmly established Ibanez as the leader in active basses.

While this commemorative model of the MC bass is admittedly somewhat more expensive "than most working musicians could reasonably afford", its hand craftsmanship select woods playability and tone make it well worth saving for the serious bassist or collector. Nearly all of the specs are based on the originals but there are some notable differences. The pickups are the same but their covers are of wood for higher fidelity and of course no standard MC Bass ever featured the beautiful inlay work of this very limited edition commemorative model

Condition: This Bass is in Like New condition/left over stock, and has only been played by us for taking pictures, testing and setup purposes. They are no signs of play wear. It is lightly stamped S (second) by Ibanez and is not a furbished Bass. Has the certificate of authenticity that matches the original serial number. Does not include a factory warranty. There are no flaws, dings, scratches, or imperfections noted. It is set up to standard specifications. The electronics work as they should. 1.     We carefully package and take the extra expense and time to package your item so it arrives safely

2.     Each guitar that does not get shipped with a case is double boxed and securely wrapped in the first box to protect your investment, (guitars with cases are securely packaged in the case the same as if placed in the first containment box)

3.     The instrument is detuned and the body, neck, and headstock are secured to prevent movement using packing paper or other materials

4.     We then securely place the box into a heavy duty guitar box and carefully package for shipment using packing paper and other materials

a.     These boxes and packing materials cost extra and thus raise the cost to ship your guitar which is not reflected in the purchase price of each instrument but in the shipping cost; as destinations, insurance , etc. change the cost of each shipment
