The original Arion series of pedals were produced in Japan by Prince Tsushinkogyo Ltd. Whilst the metal case of rivals such as BOSS is substituted for a tough plastic shell, Arion added some unique twists to their range which combined with the surprisingly good sounds have contributed to their cult and sleeper status.
The SDI-1 has two outputs allowing signal splitting into two amps, either Distortion to both amps (Soft) or have clean and dirty tones in stereo for a great blended tone with the Direct mode.
Less fizzy than a DS-1 the Arion provides gobs of crunch and Marshall-esque dirt with more mids capable of being dialed in.
This example is in very good condition for a vintage unit, with merely a small part of the top red battery cover clip missing. Modified with funky red, white and blue knobs!
