About This Listing

2014 Martin Custom 000 MMV acoustic guitar with original hardshell case.  Solid Sitka Spruce top, solid East Indian Rosewood back/sides. This one is made with an ebony fretboard instead of richlight.  Made in Nazareth, PA, USA.  No pickup installed.  Very light weight instrument, about 4 lbs. 5 oz.  Sounds fantastic and plays beautifully -- great clarity, projection, and volume for its size.

Excellent condition (9.5/10)--  Light scratches and swirls from normal handling/polishing. One tiny ding on the back of the lower bout (only detectable in certain lights). Two small nick/rub on the side of the headstock near the nut. One bruise caused by a tuning peg.  No fret wear.  No cracking/warping/humidity damage.  Non-smoker and no pets nearby.  Case is also in excellent, clean condition.

I made the following "upgrades" to the guitar:

  • Replaced the standard pickguard with a Martin beveled pickguard.
  • Replaced the stock Tusq saddle with a hand-fit bone saddle from Bob Colosi.  Noticeable improvement in projection and sustain, and I set the action to a very comfortable height.
  • Replaced the stock plastic bridge pins with a set of bone pins with abalone inlay from Bob Colosi.
  • Professionally set up with a low action. Great for fingerstyle and medium to light strumming

Freshly strung and set up with Martin SP Lifespan Light strings.
