Here we have a Tokai Jazz Sound 4 string bass. The Jazz Sound is a high quality jazz style bass and was made in japan sometime in the early 80's, most probably 1983, although it is difficult the know for sure. The bass features a 20 fret Rosewood fretboard on a bolt-on maple neck. The sound is provided from two jazz style single coil pickups with a volume control for each pickup and master tone. The bass is in good condition for an instrument of this age with an almost cream finish that was likely originally white. There are several marks in the finish on the body and headstock including slight buckle rash on the back. The once chrome hardware has weathered to more of a vintage looking matte finish and the pickgard has been drilled in a couple of places. None of this affects the playability of this bass.
