About This Listing

This Gibson S G Standard is in fair to good condition and was purchased in 1969 at Manny's music store in New York. I had the guitar customized with stereo varitone many years ago and then again further customized with Steve Vai Evolution top and bottom pick ups placed in it at the Guitar Center in Florida. The guitar uses the special custom stereo guitar jack as shown in the guitar case. The used Gibson guitar case is in fair condition.
The guitar neck was sanded down in the 1970's for better action.
There used to be photos scotch taped onto the guitar body that were taken off of it.
It has pretty much been an amazing studio recording guitar. The toggle switch has 6 settings that can be toggled
3 different ways with another switch to rhythm middle and treble
settings giving it 18 variations. The neck, the body and the guitar tuning keys are original.
The guitar shows wear and use being that it is over 52 years old
This Gibson S.G. sells As Is No returns. Be aware, the pick Ups had customization and are
set as stereo varitone. It is not the way it was when it was bought. It had customization
of the pick ups for a better sound. If sound is what you crave and good frerboard action
this might be the guitar for you.

Product Overview
The Gibson SG was introduced in 1961 as a complete replacement for the Les Paul. The new design was thought to be a more modern solidbody guitar, with sleek beveled edges and two sharp cutaways. By late 1963, the Les Paul moniker was dropped, and the SG (or Solid Guitar) became an entirely separate model. The SG has remained in steady production ever since earning a place as one of the truly classic solidbody guitars.

Notable Players:  Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Derek Trucks, Jeff Tweedy, Robbie Krieger
