Inspired by the fuzzy tones of Desert and Stoner Rock, the Sonic Generator gives you that massive, ripping fuzz sound similar to Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Sleep, Red Fang, etc.
Stomp Under Foot wanted the pedal to sound like it had a mix of two types of fuzz, a smooth fuzz underneath with a ripping, Velcro type-of-fuzz on top. Also, I wanted the pedal to be usable in any situation so the fuzz control goes from full out monster fuzz to a fat, lower-gain grit.
The mids control not only adds mids but it also adds body to the pedal keeping the tone full when the mids are turned up.
The name of the pedal comes from the origins of Desert Rock where bands would use power generators out in the desert to power their amps.
