This is a hard to find Swedish made 1962 Levin 114, serial number 426847 originally sold by Harris Musik in Stockholm, Sweden (see label on the back of the headstock).
Although some of the Levin guitar models were imported to and sold in the US in the fifties and sixties under the Goya brand, the Levin 114 remained Levin and Swedish. You can find plenty of information and history about the Levin guitars at: vintage-guitars.se/Levin/Levin_info.htm.
This guitar is made for nylon strings with spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood neck and bridge. The guitar is very smooth and easy to play and the sound is fantastic. It is widely recognized that the craftsmanship, the playability and the sound of the Levin guitars far exceed their market value.
The guitar is in very good condition considering its age. The only blemish of any significance is a repaired damage (the guitar probably fell on top of something hard and cracked) on the lower bout roughly 4 inches below the endpin (see picture). The repaired area is roughly 1 x 3". The repair is very solid and stable and the surface very smooth which indicates that the job was done a very long time ago.
