Want the smoothest richest tone you can get to go with the 6550 sound? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit and it contains six Gold Pin ECC83S's with one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V6. Very smooth and rich!
The power tubes are a premium matched sextet of the JJ Electronic JJ 6550's. They are very warm with a great clean tone and the breakup is raw, crunchy, and gritty. If you want an Angus - AC/DC type tone then these tubes really deliver! They are simply a lot of fun to play.
If you choose to use the KT66's, 6550's or KT88's and your amp has the "Bear Trap" style tube retainers you may want to swap these out for the "Spring and Cap" style retainers. These mount using the same screws as the stock retainers.
Unlike other tube venders who charge for low noise tubes, all our tubes meet rigorous tests for low noise, microphonics and nine additional tests.
