About this wonderful Tuba:
It was one of the final prototypes Zig Kanstul used to develop the 80-S, the first F tuba designed and built in the United States. It is an exceptional tuba. Clear, clean intonation and very nimble to play. This tuba is a BEAST and a lot of fun too! You will want for nothing with its performance!! Everything work as it should. The main tuning slide has the T handle attached to it for fine tuning while playing. In my opinion the main tuning slide needs a little adjusting to free it up more than it is, but thats the only issue Ive ever had with the horn.
LA studio player John Van Houten records extensively with one, as does renowned player and educator Beth Mitchell. Not that I hold a candle to either of those pros, but this tuba is the best and most fun instrument I've ever played!
If you live in the Dallas Fort Worth area or can make it here, I urge you to come by and play this marvelous work of art! (Even if you just want to come by and give her a toot just to have some fun come on by)
