MANUFACTURER DESCRIPTION:

Modular synth spring reverb built

This modular synth was hand-built in it’s totally in Mexico city. The spring reverb that integrates the front of the panel is a mechanic device, it has a structure of springs that drives the sound through them and generates reverberation. The ideas of having the spring externally exposed is so that they can be touched to create textures or noises upon the reverb effect.

The patchbay is on the left side and the control area is situated to the right. in some way it’s more confortable to play the synthesizer when the knobs are far-off the patchbay and control area.

Additionally it has 11 modules. Here’s a technical description on each one of them:

- Two VCO (voltage controlled oscillator.)
Each one with four waveforms that you can use simultaneously (square, saw, triangle and sine), CV input, FM and PWM. The FM input has an attenuator.

- VCF (voltage controlled filter.)
A four-pole and 24dB low pass filter. It has two inputs and, CV input and a FM with an attenuator.

- VCF (voltage controlled filter.)
A variable filter based on the original Steiner filter design. The two Low and high outputs can be used simultaneously. It has two inputs, CV input and a FM with an attenuator.

- VCLFO (voltage controlled low frequency oscillator.)
It has five waveforms (square, saw, triangle and sine), CV in for FM and PWM control.

- VCS&H (voltage controlled sample & hold.)
S&H can be used to send up to two voltage signals to any CV destination, It can synch clock signals, also has a CV input to control its frequency and a gate output. It has an attenuator at the input of the first voltage and the glide that works with the output of the first voltage.

- ADSR
The envelope has LED indicators for each phase that responds to the envelope’s form.
It can work under two trigger modes that was meant for percussive purposes and gate mode, also has a dimmer to define the amount of the envelope.

- EG1 (envelope generator)
AD two-phase envelope (attack and decay) with two trigger and gate mode, also has a attenuator at its output.

- EG2 (envelope generator)
Envelope that’s only available on the patchbay area (out and gate in). The phases of this envelope are predetermined to create hi-hats.

- VCA dual (voltage controlled amplifier)
Two amplificadores independientes, uno es de respuesta logarítmica y el otro lineal.
Two independent amplifiers, one on the logarithmic scale and one linear.

Stereo Mixer
This is meant to be the mix control for the modular system with R and L outputs. It has four channels. Each one has an attenuator. The 5th channel is the spring reverb input (the attenuator is the parameter “input” of the spring reverb). On the patchbay you’ll have the “Ext” parameter which is the CV input of the spring reverb that will control the level of reverb.

There will be different scenarios where you will have two outputs, as one of the alternative use that you will give it is that each one of the two signals can be process independent.

General specifications:

The case was intended as an instrument to play live. It is wooden bulit and has a black vinyl lining, aluminum panel, metal ironworks, black leather handles, a cover for protection deep enough to leave a patch completely set up and a AC100-260V power supply.
