This kit contains a premium tested JJ Electronic EL844 to drop the overall output a couple decibels and two low noise / low microphonic ECC83S's. This kit will maintain the gain in the preamp section and lower the output in the power section which reduces the headroom.
The EL844 is a completely different tube than the stock tube your amp came with. The JJ EL844's are a proprietary tube that JJ Electronic built at the request of Eurotubes. They dissipate 9 watts so we recommend setting the bias at 22mV.
Unlike other tube venders who charge for low noise tubes, all our tubes meet rigorous tests for low noise, microphonics and nine additional tests.
The video below shows both our preamp tube testing and power tube matching procedures here at Eurotubes which are second to none. We may not be the cheapest, but we are arguably the best.
