Super Rare Vintage Teisco version of the Vox Tear Drop Electric Guitar. Why are these guitars so hard to find? Did they get used for canoe paddles and accidentally dropped in the drink? Were they used as tennis rackets and turned to splinters? I don’t have the answers but I do know its even hard to find pictures of them on the interweb.
The body has the German Carve on the front, with the 3 rows of Ivory color binding. The pickups, switch, and controls are all working properly. The pickups sound great. The action is good, and the neck is straight with a rosewood fingerboard and a nice inlay. The frets are in fine shape showing a little wear, but there is lots of life still in them.
The finish is good and it does have a few minor dings and some pick marks. The whammy bar has been replaced, and the bridge isn’t original. The tuners have also been replaced but I have a set that is proper for this guitar I will include. The chrome is in good shape with the exception of some peeling on the sides of the pickups. Original chipboard case pictured is included.
It plays great and sounds amazing. Check out the video to hear it.
