1997 Ernie Ball/Music Man Albert Lee model - Serial #97501 - This is an "Artist Relations" guitar...this fact was confirmed by the folks at Ernie Ball / Music Man.
Natural finish - Three single coil Seymour Duncan pickups (these were too early for the Noise Cancel gadget you can get now) - Southern ash body - Birdseye maple neck - No noticeable fret wear (see photo) - The weight is only 5 lbs. 10oz. The original hardshell case is included. The keys for the hardshell case are also included and shown in the pictures.
Overall condition is "Very Good" and almost "Excellent'....no big dings, scratches, etc....all-in-all a very clean guitar. There are some very minor indentations in the clear coat on the back of the guitar. I couldn't get them to show up in any photos, but they are indeed there if you look at the guitar very closely under a certain light in person.
The most likely explanation for this guitar's existence is that it was built for Jim Messina; I've seen an Albert Lee with specs entirely identical to this guitar that was confirmed as a custom build for Jim Messina. To clarify, this guitar is confirmed as an "Artist Relations" model, the best guess is that it was made for Jim Messina, but I don't personally know for sure. I've considered taking the neck off to see if anything is stamped on the body or written in marker underneath the neck joint, but I'm too lazy and disinclined to get around to doing that.
If you have any questions, or want more information regarding why I'm fairly certain (though not entirely) that this was a custom build for Jim Messina, feel free to get in touch. Please feel free to make an offer, though I might leave the listing up for a while to see what other offers come in.
Ships in hardshell case shown in pictures.
Shipping to the continental and contiguous USA only.
