About This Listing

A relatively obscure analog delay and reverb pedal from the '70s or early '80s, made in Japan for the US company Multivox. Between the colour and the font, it's certainly an artifact of the times, while the footswitch and the sliders (a nice touch if you're messing around with oscillating repeats) are an interesting deviation from the pedal designs of the time.

The Delay Machine has both a delay and a reverb mode: the reverb is a pretty classic 'hall' style reverb (think The Church, Echo and Bunnymen etc) and the delay works particularly well for a slapback effect.

The pedal is good condition with a few small dints and scratches in the paintwork. Mechanically, the pedal works well although there are two points to mention. There is a bit background noise when you slide the delay fader up on either setting (delay or reverb/echo), which is in line with a few other '70s pedals I have: it's completely usable, but it won't give you a noiseless, pristine signal if you were recording. The switch is also bit temperamental and does seem to occasionally miss a beat so could possibly do with a look-at. I have no idea what sort of switching system it is so I didn't want to mess around with it.
