Dean Markley K-65 Amplifier
A 1994 Dean Markley K-65 in terrific condition. This amp has been well-cared for, and sounds as good today as it did when it came out of the factory! In remarkable condition for a 22 year old unit, the K-65 is one of the nicer amps to come out of the era! Ahead of it's time, the -65 includes "dip" switches, which are used to tailor the voicing/tone of the "drive" channel. A fifty (50) watt amp (@ 4 ohm), the '65 is loud, and is easily capable of driving up to two (2) 12" extension speakers (periodically the "original" Markley ext. speakers come up on eBay and other sites, along with the factory stand for the amp & extensions!). A very nice reverb feature rounds out the '65, and both the "drive" and reverb can be turned on/off with a simple "normally open" footswitch.
Operationally this amp is in "mint" condition, and the chassis was recently cleaned and inspected. The "custom" speaker is like new. Cosmetically, the tolex is in very good condition with no rips or tears. There is some minor wear, but again, for a 22 year old amp, it's truly amazing how clean it is! FYI, if you have looking at Markley amps, you have noted that some have black tolex and others a "buff" or "tan" covering. Dealing with the "early" amps (all of the "new" Markley branded amps feature the "tan" covering), when the electronics division of Markley was sold in '92 to Kaman Intl., the new owner changed from the "more expensive" buff tolex to the more common black. In general, any Markley "K" series amp with tan/buff covering was manufactured before '92, by the original Dean Markley Company.
As owners of several "early" Markley "K" series amps, we can verify that this particular amp is in great condition, and is every bit as nice as the others we've encountered. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have, we're happy to help!
