Hello and thanks for having a look at my listing!
I have several other amps. cabinets, guitars etc. listed so please have a look at my other listings!
History:
This little
number was born a RCA Victor television set, I believe at some point in the
1950’s. I’m sure it was a beautiful
piece of technology, lots of room for tubes, electronics, etc.
How I Received It:
By the time
I found it, the electronics were entirely gone, the knobs were gone, all that
was left was the glass/plexiglass plate and the cabinet. In fact, the original reddish finish was still
there in color, if not in actual protective format. As should be expected, there were some dents, scrapes, and general light damage before I ever got started. I did the best I could to remedy what I could. But, I want to set appropriate expectations by stating unequivocally that this is a cabinet that is approximately 60 years old! I must say that the cabinet is very well
built. Very sturdy, very solid. It was begging for a makeover and to receive
the protection it deserves.
Modifications Made (in short):
·
Cabinet
Exterior: removed the original finish,
stained, put some black paint on the bits that needed it, then many, many coats
of gloss polyurethane, and added vintage knobs
·
Glass/Plexigalss
Plate: removed it, because the hole
through which one used to view the TV would soon be used to convey sound
·
Cabinet
Interior: added four bolts on which to affix
the 12-inch speaker, added the ¼ inch jack, and a wrote her new name, “Ann”, on
the inside
·
Legs: in order to bring back a bit of the original
appearance yet bring it into the present, I added four chrome legs that are
quite adjustable and also removable for shipping purposes
Dimensions:
Cabinet: 22
1/2“ x 20” x 15”
Legs: 14”
– 22” (adjustable with allen wrench, included)
Holds:
Speaker: Single Celestion G12P-80, 12-inch speaker, Made in England, 8 Ohm impedance
