For sale is my Taylor 614CE Builder's Edition guitar.
I fell in love with this guitar as soon as I played it. The sound is perfectly balanced - big, booming bass that sometimes feels as though it's being amplified electronically, and a higher register has no problem breaking through with bell-like clarity, even on the upper ends of the fretboard. Plugged in, this thing really sounds gorgeous. Taylor's acoustic pickups are some of the best in the world IMO.
It looks as rich and refined as it sounds - at first I was leaning towards buying the option with the lighter finish, but after holding the WHB version at the guitar shop, I knew it was the way to go. It feels like a violin or cello in your hands - you find yourself looking at it as often as you play it, it's such an attractive instrument. Beveled body and cutout make it incredibly comfortable, to the point I now realize how uncomfortable other guitars are.
After purchasing the guitar, I took it to my luthier here in Brooklyn to have it set up to my preferences as a fingerstyle guitarist (very low action). It's set up for Elixer Light Nanoweb strings.
The instrument has been stored exclusively in it's case when not in use, along with a Oasis humidifier to maintain the correct humidity levels. The only imperfection is a small surface-level scratch/blemish on the backside of the body. It's only visible when the light hits it just right, and since it only penetrated the finish, it would likely be easy to buff out, I just lack the tools or know-how. So instead, I'm marking the price down by about 25%.
Serial number is 1106238103, indicating it was produced June 23rd, 2018. Comes with the original custom-fit Taylor guitar case. I'll also throw in the Oasis humidifier to help regulate humidity while in transit.
I'm physically sick about letting this guitar go (especially after paying $4300 after tax for it less than 6 months ago), but hoping I can find someone who will appreciate it as much as I did.
I live in Brooklyn, and would really prefer to have someone pick it up - That said, if you're interested in the guitar but need shipping, feel free to contact me and we might be able to work something out.
