About This Listing
Meazzi Minibass Short Scale
This is a really lovely little solid body bass made during the sixties in Italy by Meazzi.
The Bass is in very good, vintage condition with just a few paint bruises. and it's a whole lot of fun to play this baby!
It is unusually lightweight to play with a scale of 26.5 inches. At
that time, there were many and various guitar makers in Italy - the
most well-known being Eko, and including Crucianelli, Meazzi and
Galanti, all of whom made great looking and often sparkling and quirky
guitars.
The
bass is in a rare and unusual dark green with a white scratchplate.
(There have been a couple of small repairs to the scratchplate where
screws may have been overtightened in the past). There is a single
chromed pickup with black surround and a top very similar to that of a
goldfoil pickup; there are also volume and tone controls and an unusual
but very effective adjustable bridge/tailpiece (which has a very small
dent in the top) and is used for adjusting the intonation if and when
required. All the chromework on this bass is excellent.
The
neck is bolted on and holds the twenty fret rosewood fingerboard, all
in a very good condition; the headstock contains the original four side
tuners, but no logo.
There are a couple of small paint chips on the body and one on the headstock but they're not really very noticeable. Its a very useful and very rare little bass and great to play. It comes with a soft bass bag.
Sorry, no return or warranty, as it is a private sale.
