Vintage Yamaha Recording Custom snare drum.
14 x 6. 5 size. 10 lugs per side.
Made in Japan. Serial numbers SD 970 RA and model numbers JH,
Circa 1983 as decoded by the JH serial numbers.
Finished in original classic piano black lacquer. Very clean shell exterior with only a few very light surface scuffs. Shell interior and bearing edges are excellent. A previous owner added extra holes used for microphone/port. The holes are clean in terms of cut and diameters.
All chrome hardware is original and in very condition -- no broken or missing parts. Some minor/light pitting on some hardware pieces. Original lugs, dual throw offs/strainers, butt plate and hoops. Remo coated batter head and clear resonate head, both in very good playing condition.
The drum delivers exceptional tone -- warm and woody with excellent projection. Outstanding depth with wide tuning range.
