Gene Baker worked in the Fender Custom Shop and made fabulous instruments there for years. When he decided to go out on his own, he had already honed his talents to a fine edge. He is an amazing player and as such, he has very particular ideas about tone, construction, and quality of execution.
This, is his take on a Les Paul...but without the sad inconsistencies and flaws that drove Gibson into bankruptcy. So think of it as a Master Built Les Paul for way less money, but with much better pickups!
He only made 9 of these, and this is the only one with the legendary Tom Holmes Pickups!
Everything about this guitar is stunning, and it plays like a dream. The tones are what you expect ..and better.
Incidentally, the camera makes it look very orange....it's not at all. It's actually a very warm amber with a killer top.
