Vintage 12 Channel mixing console ex The Who Ramport Studios

Rare Helios Console - Originally installed at Ramport Studios and formally owned by British Rock Legends The Who.

Part of the same Helios console used to record many classic albums including Quadrophenia, Tommy the Musical. Supertramp and Thin Lizzy also used the Helios in their recordings. While researching more about the history we managed to obtain email confirmation from Pete Townshend and you can also see studio session photos of original band members with the Helios back at Ramport Studios.

The Helios was restored by Kevin Van Green, studio acoustic designer and more recently the designer of the Rock monitor/speaker range by Unity Audio.
The restoration included a recap, new monitor section build, transformer channel balancing and a new meter bridge, everything else is completely original from the Ramport console - Mic/Line/EQ channel strips, line amps, faders, bus modules and internal frame.

Helios can be configured for use with Bantam patchbay or GPO via Edac connectors to the rear of the console at the buyers request. Also it is possible to modify for direct outputs to integrate with your DAW. This is something we can do at extra cost or advise potential buyer on.

Buyer can be confident that the Helios will be fully serviced before it leaves the building and in complete working condition on completion of sale. Strongly advise viewing in person as Helios is currently installed in a working home studio so you are welcome to come and hear it for yourself.
