Up for sale is a beautiful and EXTREMELY rare Ode Model 42 Grade 5 (the highest grade / highest level of engraving) banjo. This banjo features an engraved aluminum rim that has an integrated flathead tone ring, Ode capo, carved heel, engraved tailpiece and armrest all factory original. Resonator and neck I believe are rosewood, neck has laminated center section with a carved heel, inlayed heel cap, custom fretboard inlay, grover tuners all with original finish. Comes with new arch top case as well as the original case (not in great condition). Scale length on this banjo is 27 1/8" (13 9/16" to 12th fret). The sound out of this instrument is amazing, for a non-wood rim banjo it is very responsive, clean, and a joy to play. Serial Number: 1831.
