Korg Volca Bass Analog Bass Machine

The Volca Series offers the ideal introductory synthesizers, giving you unlimited sonic enjoyment and letting you create a diverse array of sounds that can only be obtained through an analog synth. Volca Bass gives you a powerful, analog bass sound, bringing you the ultimate sounds and grooves with ease.

Volca Bass is an analog bassline groove box giving you a wide range of basslines from aggressive sounds that stand up to drums and fat sounds that support the rhythm to funky groove-generating sounds. Its simple structure has an unmistakable presence that can't be found with digital synths. Ideal for those new to synths, Volca Bass' step sequencer is distilled from the Electribe and is not only intuitive to use, but inspiringly powerful too.

Three oscillators generate a variety of thick and unmodulated bass sounds with incredible diversity. Create a sequence that uses each oscillator individually and you can create a complex pattern in which three different phrases are woven together, for bass sounds with awesome presence.

Korg's legendary analog filter has been fine-tuned specifically for the Volca Bass to create a crisp and bright sound, which can be altered using Cutoff. The Peak Knob can create great-sounding resonance distortion, important for styles like acid music.

With a step sequencer distilled from the Electribe, editing is made easy and you can improvise by adding or removing parts. Use the 16 step keys to intuitively enter notes and enter completely different phrases for each of the three oscillators. Play the touch panel keyboard to record in real-time and store up to 8 sequence patterns in Volca Bass' internal memory.

Slide function creates the impression of connected steps, and effects similar to a short loop can be created with the Active Step function, which skips steps during sequence playback, allowing for a dynamic performance.

The Volca Bass solves the problem of pitch drift with its self-tuning function, constantly tuning the oscillators so you never have to interrupt a performance for tuning.

Connect Volca Bass with the rest of the Volca Series or a Monotribe using the Sync Jack. A MIDI-in connector lets you synchronise with other devices, play the Volca from any MIDI keyboard and send note messages from your DAW.

The Volca Bass analog bass machine has a compact size and a built-in speaker, easily playable anytime, anywhere. The ideal starter-synth.

Korg Volca Keys Analog Loop Synth

The long-awaited Volca Keys synthesiser is a 27-key analog synth capable of generating unbelievably powerful sound from its compact body. Starting with a filter section using the circuitry of the legendary miniKORG700s, its astonishing sound takes full advantage of Korg's synthesizer expertise. Volca Key's simple structure includes a delay effect and sequencer, offering richly expressive sounds that are distinctive of an analog synth.

Volca Keys is a three-voice, polyphonic analog synth a recognisable, versatile structure. The ability to generate diverse and powerful sounds with just a few carefully selected parameters is a distinctive characteristic of analog synths and with Volca Keys the possibilities are endless. You can use the three oscillators to play chords, produce solid lead lines with the help of detune or create far-out metallic sounds by applying ring modulation.

The Voicing function makes it easy to specify how the three oscillators will be combined. Choose between Poly, Unison, Octave, Fifth, Unison Ring or Poly Ring simply by turning a dial. Easy for those taking thier first steps into synthesisers, Volca's simple design makes it easy to obtain a wide variety of sounds.

Record phrases as you play them with Volca Keys using the loop sequencer. With up to 16 steps, it's easy to create phrases as they come to mind. Use the overdub recording function to produce complex loops, with up to 8 sequence patterns able to be stored in internal memory. Craft your loops with the Motion Sequence function, apply time-varying changes to your sound to enhance loops and add originality to your live performances.

A useful self-tuning function constantly tunes the oscillators, so you never need to tune during a performance or wait for the pitch to stabilise after turning the power on.

Korg Volca FM Digital Synthesizer

Usability and portability are the two main objectives of Korg’s Volca range and the FM is no different. There are plenty of ways to easily attain the sounds you’re looking for with the Volca FM. The 6 operators can be edited on the system to find your unique tone. There’s LFO with depth and rate controls, and an array of editing knobs for further customisation. The presets are an obvious throwback to synths of the 80s, but recreate them faithfully and with attention to detail. The Volca FM can be filled with sounds from the DX-7 via the online database SysEx, making it a powerful tool for a multitude of song possibilities.

In the 1980s, when FM (Frequency Modulation) sound generation was introduced, it became a major turning point in the history of synthesizers. The metallic, sharp sounds, most notably electric piano and synth bass, are still hugely popular with modern music creators. The Volca FM perfectly reproduces the classic sound engine of the digital synthesizer that made the world aware of FM synthesis. Its six operators and 32 algorithms provide complete compatibility and it can even load files in the SYS-EX/SYX format of the Yamaha DX7.

The MODULATOR/CARRIER edit knobs make sound editing simple with their movements mapped to multiple parameters. FM enthusiasts can explore full parameter edits with the help of the included Parameter List Guide.

The Volca FM features a lush chorus effect to add depth to your sounds and expand the creative potential even further.

A loop sequencer with up to 16 steps lets you record your performance on the touch panel keyboard as you play. Easily create phrases and store up to 16 sequence patterns in internal memory. The motion sequence function records your knob movements so you can add time varying change to the sound. This means you can polish your loops and generate impressive and original live performances.

The Korg Volca FM features an active step function that lets you skip steps during a sequence and new functions that allow you to generate more irregular rhythms. If the active step is fewer than 16 steps, you can use the WARP ACTIVE STEP function to compensate to occupy the same playback time as 16 steps; then by synchronising the playback with another Volca series unit, you can deliberately skew the step timing to generate truly unconventional performances.

In a first for the Volca series, the Volca FM is also equipped with an arpeggiator. By using this in conjunction with a motion sequence you can create extremely eccentric rhythm patterns. The pattern chain function lets you connect multiple sequence patterns for successive playback, making it possible to construct large-scale developments of 32, 64, or even 256 steps by joining up to 16 sequences.

The Volca FM provides a sync connector that can be easily connected to Korg's groove machines. Connect this to the other Korg Volca series unit, the Electribe, or the SQ-1, and experience a session with synchronised sequencer playback. When two units of Volca FM are connected, you can clone the sound programs and sequence data from Volca FM to Volca FM. The MIDI IN jack also lets you use the Volca as a sound module for DAW and MIDI controller.
