Up for sale is this vintage S.S. Steward A156 Tenor Banjo. This banjo is really a cool piece of history and plays and sounds amazing. It needed some work when we took it in and we re-glued rear ring, replace some missing frets on the rear end, glued lifting areas of finger board and setup. It's now structurally sound and 100% ready to go!

Serialized ISI6630. Weighs 8 pounds.

This banjo is a cool piece and you will not see many of these around. It features a blue stained maple neck and rim, and a double bound maple resonator with a beautiful pearloid back flower overlay. The fingerboard is also pearloid with floral fret markers, and the headstock has a pearloid overlay with logo and another flower!

This banjo is in very good condition for it's age. As far as we know the neck and resonator were made by Gibson, so as the tone ring. But the pot and flange are likely replacement and most likely from a Kay or S/V banjo. The tuners have been replaced too. This banjo is played but not abused, it has a number of finish checking, clear coat scuffs, dings and scratches over the body. But overall it's structurally sound and plays and sounds great!
