At the end of 1988, I started working with Michael Hornick of SHANTI Guitars to build a dreadnought unique from anything he's done. From the photos you can see the Abalone inlay with the word Shanti above the nut. This was the only time he had done this as well as a KOA head, KOA sides and back for a very unique dreadnought. This is documented in his letters attached as well as the top being a sixty-year-old piece of German spruce. There is a top-of-the-line studio microphone mounted inside and a Highlander transducer at the bridge, hence Two Jacks, one active and one passive. The net is 1 and 3/4 inches wide and sin all the way up to neck like a Les Paul, also unique.
In June of 1989, Michael Hornick had finished the instrument and was again the featured luthier in Telluride Colorado. Pat Flynn, guitar player for New Grass Revival, played this Guitar on stage through the Telluride Festival. Michael and Pat called me in Boise Idaho to see if I would sell the guitar to Pat Flynn for a price much more than I paid, and I simply could not since I had not yet seen the instrument. I knew it must have been something special or Pat Flynn would not have tried to purchase the Shanti. After Telluride, Michael and his wife drove to my home in Boise Idaho to present me with a guitar on July 1st 1989. It was a complete surprise and I did not know he was coming to Boise to deliver the instrument. Sadly enough, I only have about 150 hours on this guitar since 1989 but have taken very good care of this instrument.

I need to sell the guitar as soon as possible before I change my mind. This is a high-end and valuable guitar. It's more than I need and don't want to run the risk of damaging the instrument since it's the only guitar I own.
Building of the guitar is well-documented. You can see Michael Hornick's letters he wrote to me on his letterhead at different stages as well as the photographs Michael took at different stages of building the guitar, all of which I have in my possession and will remain with the guitar for whomever purchases the instrument.
