Almost certainly made by the Framus Company, this mandolin features things like a bolt on neck, a string tree, cats eye sound holes, a pick guard screwed directly into the top, a complete lack of tone bars/ braces, and a forward tilting headstock. So it’s kinda weird. So if you can imagine a Gibson A-50 that got ran through google translate to German and then back to English, that’s what we have here. Best I can tell it has a spruce top, maple back and sides, a mahogany neck with a 1 1/4” nut width, and a rosewood fingerboard with a 13 3/4” scale length. Has the date “11-74” written inside in pen, which could plausibly be the date of manufacture. Additionally, it comes in a modern, very clean chipboard case.
Sounds similar to most mandolins in this price range, but plays better than most and is way cooler looking. Holler at me with any questions or if there’s any more pictures you’d like to see.
