About This Listing

I bought this bass about 2.5 years ago - only played a few times (was in a short-scale phase at the time).  The bass is in excellent shape with light usage - with OHSC.

As sometimes happens with Guild basses, one of the wooden blocks connecting the strings to bridge is cracked - has to be replaced or repaired (G string - see picture 4). That block will be included but replacement is a better option - you can do it yourself with some simple tools.

Also missing truss rod cover - easily replaced.

Retiring from bass and letting go a lot of pieces, including this one - my loss is your gain - grab this unique bass at a very low sale price or make an offer - I can't give it away but you might be surprised! I'm retiring and I need it out of here.

Reasonable offers considered - local pickup free of charge.

Guild GSR M-85II Bass

As part of the Guild Special Run series, the GSR M-85 II Bass will only be available as a limited edition and made in small numbers. It steps things up from the M-85 with a fully hollow body featuring a laminated spruce arched top that is supported with parallel tone bar bracing. The back and sides are mahogany and the whole body has black and white binding. Its three piece mahogany and maple neck is topped with rosewood with mother of pearl dot inlays.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS BASS IS MISSING IT'S TRUSS ROD COVER. IT PLAYS ORIGINAL, SOUNDS GREAT, AND IS COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL.

The GSR version adds a second pickup and volume and tone knobs for each pickup. The upper bout also has a three-way pickup selector switch while a two-way mini toggle by the knobs offers a low end roll-off. Other features include a combo bridge/tailpiece with rosewood saddles, Gotoh tuners, a vintage-style “Chesterfield” inlay, and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Cherry Red
