Beatles John Lennon "Imagine" album Studio Used Neumann KM 84i microphone

In 1969, John Lennon (through Apple Corps, The Beatles' company) hired Eddie Veale to build him a home studio from scratch. In 1970, construction began on Lennon's Tittenhurst Park, Ascot studio. The records indicate Apple procured the equipment (including this microphone) installed in Lennon's studio. 

One of the items installed was this beautiful Neumann Condenser Microphone KM84i, serial number 4095. This mic formed part of the studio during the time and was used by John Lennon during the making of the "Imagine" album. This microphone was later transferred to Ringo Starr when he bought Lennon's house and recorded there. Eddie Veale is also credited as an Engineer on the "Imagine" LP.

I once tested this microphone in 1999 at Smart Studios with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, etc). It worked at that time. The microphone was tested again Feb 19, 2016 and it works! It has been on display ever since. 

This amazing one-of-a kind piece of John Lennon memorabilia and equipment comes with collection of supporting documents including the inventory sheet Veale gave to Apple/John Lennon listing this microphone and all the rest of the equipment.  The microphone also comes with the original mic case.
