For sale is an amazingly clean example of a 1954 Magnatone amplifier. The M199-3J "Student" is a little "20.7 watt" single 8 inch speaker amplifier. An amazingly simple thing, with just one knob that functions as volume and the power switch, this little sweetie has an incredible tone. Subtle and soft when kept low, it has a nice bass rich tone. When cranked all the way up it really starts to scream with some legendary tube saturation and overdrive. Cosmetically this amplifier is really great, with some small nicks in the tolex and the label wearing a little bit. This amp is a perfect studio companion, and when mic'd it sounds absolutely amazing. With this amp you don't only get a great piece of functional gear but a piece of history.
