KAY UPRIGHT BASS 5-String Chubby Jackson Model S-51, double purfling, violin corners, 5-string model with High C, nickel machines with clover shaped grips. No serial number found to determine date of manufacture but this model was only made between 1940 and 1969. Stamped Kay on back peg-box. It has the original ebony fingerboard, nut and tailpiece This five-string model is set up with High C articulation and excellent quality strings. Many years ago the neck was reset and hasn't moved. The bass was recently set up by our top professional luthier with a hand carved Bausch adjustable bridge. The bass is very easy to play with a very close action. Included is a French style wood horse hair bow and a used hard case.
