Gibson EB-2 Modified Fretless Bass, 60's Vintage

For sale is an excellent Vintage Gibson EB-2. This bass, which we think is a '68, has had a custom made Ebony fretless board expertly installed which makes it a one of a kind piece. The big bass humbucker right up on the neck makes this an extraordinarily round and full instrument tonally. This bass is an absolute dream jazz bass guitar, but fits excellently into any realm of music. As a player this vintage bass fits perfectly in the hand, has a really nice neck feel and a slimmer nut radius which contributes to it's overall speedy playing capacity. Cosmetically it is in very good shape, with some dings and scratches as well as a little finish checking across the body. The pickup has a little oxidation to it but not much, and where the neck meets the body there is some sloppy finishing but it is structurally sound work. There is an open hole on the top where a selector switch would have been, as well as drill holes for the original bridge cover and the pickguard which have not been sealed. This vintage oddity is a fantastic one-of-a-kind bass that will not only make ears perk with its fantastic natural tone but will definitely turn heads with how absolutely beautiful it is.
