Axe Integrator
Studio Instrument Preamplifier
Designed from the ground up to satisfy the most demanding guitarists and musicians, the Axe Integrator is comprised of All-Discrete Class A circuitry with a 36 Volt power supply that allows for expansive headroom and ultra-clean gain. The output stage is designed around a special Jensen Transformer that drives either balanced or unbalanced loads to a full +22dBu line level.
The product concept was to provide an appropriate high-impedance load that instrument pickups would respond to favorably, provide enough clean gain for multiple applications, and refine the circuitry so that just a touch of 2nd harmonic coloration is present to emulate the quality of fine tube amplifiers.
The range of gain settings allow for a variety of instruments and pickup types to directly feed recording console line inputs, analog-to-digital converters, and even non-professional unbalanced audio gear. Although it can be used in live stage applications as a preamplifier, the Axe Integrator was primarily designed for studio use and should not be confused with a typical direct box that only outputs a mic level signal.
