You are looking at a F.W. Pete Belcher Jr. hand made high end 8 string mountain dulcimer. A real fine instrument. Seems to me it is cherry wood with ebony fingerboard. I can't promise cherry but that is what it looks like to me. Maybe it is a lite mahogany. Sounds amazing nice big sound as it is one of the largest mountain dulcimers I have ever seen. Built in 1976 and in good condition with the following details. Some minor surface scratches, nothing broken, Grover tuners with one of the buttons changed to a rounded button instead of bell shape, the nut slots were a little to deep and seemed to be cut slightly to low so I filled them with super glue to raise the height just a little and it helped. You may want to have a new nut cut and fitted or just use it this way. I was asking $500 or best offer and you can fix it all up or I can have it set up, restrung, nut adjusted and tuning gear button replaced and do all that at the $500 price. So make me an offer as is or do the buy it now and send me a note that you can allow 1-2 weeks for me to have it all set up to good playing condition. See youtube video it is about the only info I could find on them. Thanks for looking.

Bob Webb, Heidi Muller and Dave Haas play Bob's original tune, "Waltz for Susan," on their mountain dulcimers made by the late Pete Belcher of Princeton, WV. This is the first time three of Pete's dulcimers have ever been played together onstage.
