Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Yamaha Super Axe SA1000 semi-hollow electric guitar in cherry red finish, made in Japan in 1978.These late 70s Yamaha semi-hollows are incredibly well built guitars and have developed a really strong reputation over the years for their craftsmanship, playability, and tone. The SA1000 sits in that sweet spot of vintage Japanese quality where Yamaha was competing directly with higher-end Gibson ES models while still doing their own thing.This example features a laminated maple semi-hollow body, set neck construction, bound rosewood fingerboard, original Yamaha humbuckers, and original Yamaha branded tuners. The cherry finish has aged nicely and shows off the wood grain underneath beautifully.Just cleaned, restrung and professionally set up here at the shop with low action. Plays great up and down the neck.The guitar has a warm, articulate tone with plenty of clarity and sustain.
