Very Rare Larrivee LS-4 Red
Production date:
Serial: 10267 Aug 7, 1990 LS-4 Red
I purchased this guitar as new 32 years ago. The pickups are all original Larrivee. The frets are in like new condition. At the age of 14 it was an impulsive buy at the time. My fickle taste soon favoured other guitar models….so this was hardly played. You won’t find a guitar of this age with like new original frets. The ebony fretboard is also immaculate with no wear. The neck is a beautiful birds eye maple. Very thin and fast. The guitar is well balanced and plays with the quality you would expect from Larrivee. All electronics are in good working order.
Larrivee, known for their quality acoustic guitars turned their hand to building electric guitars in 1982, due to a slump in acoustic sales and a growing electric guitar market. They used the same quality standards in production and produced some of the best electric guitars at that time. This guitar represents a part of that quality build, rock/metal guitar history. This guitar is perfect for players and collectors alike who are looking to own a quality piece of nostalgia.
The guitar has a some minor blemishes as can be expected for it’s age. I have shown all these in the photos.
There is very little recorded information on the first generation electrics. They came and went well before the digital age. Nobody thought about recording all the information back then. Here is some info I could find:(search: history-of-larrivee-electric-guitars daveswoodstockmusic)
I can't put links here.
