Working Mellotron MKII from the sixties.
This Mellotron belonged to Spring, the quasi-progressive band (for me they were a good rock band, far from certain progressive frills .. but that's another story..) that made the very iconic-mellotronic album "Spring" in the 1971.
The instrument is in good aesthetic condition and comes with 36 different playable sounds, 18 different sounds for the left keyboard and 18 different sounds for the right one.
The tapes have been changed and new ones installed in the 2000s (in a restoration by Streetly-Electronics) . Then the Tron was overhauled in 2017.
The two "cycling system" (for choosing the sound bank) both works (also here -as in the other pcb- the obsolete components have been replaced with new components or when it was needed with NOS components). They are therefore functional the VFO of the motor, the tube-preamp, the two transistor power-amp, the reverb, the two speakers (one original speaker it has been replaced -even if it sounded- because had a little rattling. The removed speaker is still included in the flight case if you want to renew it).
Furthermore, among the various works, i want to quote the cleaning and demagnetization of every pickup, the cleaning of every pinch-rollers, the replacement of each top pressure pad and realignments of the same.
I can send more pics of the MKII only if you are really interested (and feel free to ask any info about it).
The video you can see below isn't in highest video quality, but just to demonstrate the functionality of the MKII (other MKII video in my YouTube chanel). For the sound i suggest to listen with a pair of headphones or good speakers (there are still some crackles and unnecessary interference, but you should hear the timbre of the instrument).
First video is just to prove the operating of the Tron.
Second video is to prove the sound from two keyboard played together (combining some sound banks).
Third is to prove the sound bank of each keyboard separately.
Forgive my way of playing, i don't have any technique ;)
Local pick-up it's preferable (with the obvious possibility of playing and proving it) but with his flight case can be shipped almost everywhere.
Note that the shipping costs indicated in the ad are just generic and every agreed shipment is insured.
p.s. i repost this ad because on 28/03 i had a purchase -without any prior contact- that i didn't consider safe. So i completely refunded the user and i haven't sent anything, the trust must be on both sides.
